Pinshift is built to know as little about you as possible.

Your locations stay with you

The places you set, save or travel through stay on your PC and your iPhone. They are never sent to us.

What we receive

To check your trial or Pro plan, Pinshift sends a scrambled device ID. It's made from your PC's or iPhone's hardware ID with a one-way hash, so it can't be turned back into the real ID. We store that ID, when we first saw it, and which Pro key it belongs to, if any. To count how many people use Pinshift, we also note which days that ID checked in, from which app (Windows, Mac or iPhone) and which version, and delete those notes after 60 days. If you send feedback, we keep your message and anything you add to it, like a contact. When something goes wrong, the apps send an error report: which step failed, the technical error message, the app version and your iOS version. It never includes your location or device ID.

Places sync (optional)

If you have Pro and turn on Sync places, your saved and recent places (names and coordinates) are stored on our server so your computer and iPhone stay in sync. It is off unless you turn it on, it only syncs between devices on your own Pro key, and turning it off stops syncing. Your current location and movement are never sent.

Website visits

This website counts page views with Vercel Web Analytics. It uses no cookies and doesn't identify you; we only see totals like how many people visited and which pages they opened.

Payments

Pro is sold by our payment partner, Lemon Squeezy, who handles your payment details and email. We only receive whether a key is active.

Map and search

Map tiles and search results come from map providers, who see the area you're looking at and your IP address, like any website does.
